That’s the message Treehouse Village Ecohousing is sending as it looks for additional younger folks and families to claim the remaining homes in this unique, sustainable, healthy, multi-age cohousing community in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia.
Twenty-four of the homes are already taken, but six multi-bedroom homes are still available in the new community. But, with move-in less than 12 months away, families interested in joining the neighbourhood will need to act fast, as interest is growing in Nova Scotia’s first cohousing community. All the homes need to be sold before move-in, and the six remaining ones are being held for younger folks and families for a limited time.
Treehouse Village Ecohousing (or TVE), has refreshed its website with a new slogan, “More than a home,” to get out the word about this unique opportunity. The revamped site has details about the remaining homes for sale, as well as information about Bridgewater, local schools, shopping, and the unique features of the cohousing community.
“With the website refresh, we want to convey the excitement we feel about Treehouse Village, and show the wonderful community you can be a part of,” says Emma Savage, who is a TVE member, mother of two, leader of the marketing circle, and one of the team who worked on the website.
“As a home buyer, I knew to consider cost, size, walkability, and other factors. Until now, there wasn’t an option to choose like-minded neighbours who want to collaborate and foster socially conscious sustainable lifestyles,” she said.
We’re looking for families to join our vibrant community. Construction is already underway, and we’ll be moving in next year. We’re looking for six more households to join us.

Nestled in almost 15 acres of forest, a short walk from downtown Bridgewater, Treehouse Village features 30 private homes (condos) built to the ultra energy efficient Passive House standard. Construction is already underway and move-in is set for Fall of 2022.
Treehouse Village is unlike any neighbourhood Nova Scotia has seen and is a welcome option for those seeking eco-friendly and community-oriented living. Neighbours are connected by substantial shared amenities including a large communal kitchen, lounge, kids’ playroom, shared office space, workshop, guest rooms, and more. Self-governed and developed by its future residents, Treehouse Village is already over 80% sold, but beautiful, spacious two- and three-bedroom homes are still available for under $500,000.
