Atlantic Canada’s first cohousing development, Treehouse Village is a vibrant, multi-generational community dedicated to living lightly on the earth.
Our community features 30 one-level condominium homes in four two-storey residential buildings, constructed to the ultra energy-efficient Passive House standards, along with a 4000 square foot Common House and 1000 square foot workshop. We are within walking/biking distance of downtown Bridgewater, and our surrounding natural environment includes a Common Green, community gardens, and more than 11 acres of undeveloped forest.
The heart of our community is the 4000 sq.ft. Common House, our extended living room. This is our village’s central hub, where residents gather in shared spaces including a kitchen, dining room, laundry facilities, coworking space, guest rooms, exercise room and children’s play room.
Treehouse Villagers share more than 5000 sq.ft. of fully accessible contemporary space, including the 4000 sq.ft. Common House and a separate, 1000 sq.ft. community workshop.
Our central courtyard (the Common Green), community gardens, and more than 11 acres of undeveloped forest — these are the open spaces that connect each of our homes to the village’s heart (our Common House) and to each other.
Treehouse Village is located in Bridgewater, on Nova Scotia’s South Shore
