A home for their children to grow into. A home office. Enough room so that the grandparents can visit. Being able to step outside into nature. These are just some of the factors that drew the Parry and Bjork families to Treehouse Village’s most spacious home, the Oak.
The 1,264 square feet Oak includes three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a spacious kitchen, and an open-concept living area and is priced under $500,000.
“We have two young children and we want our children to grow up here and eventually have their own rooms,” explains Teona Bjork. “Max and I have been pretty fortunate in our living arrangements through the years and we’re used to having a bathroom that is separate from our children. Another consideration was that our parents and extended families live far enough away that, although they could easily and happily use the Common House accommodations when they visit, we can also choose to host them in our private home. It just opened up more options.”
For Mark and Mandy Parry, having a large bedroom for daughter Violet with a dedicated workspace for schoolwork was a major draw. The large kitchen, two bathrooms, huge living space, and ground floor location were major draws as well.
It’s no wonder the Parry and Bjork families are looking forward to moving to Treehouse Village, and their spacious Oak homes this Fall. As they note, the large master bedroom includes an ensuite bathroom. The other bedrooms are perfect for children or a home office. The bright, airy kitchen with breakfast bar and the open concept living and dining area are inviting for everyday living and for entertaining visitors.
The Parry’s and other families at Treehouse have a variety of options for schools. Within walking distance is the Bridgewater Elementary and Junior High Schools. Ride a bike along the Centennial Track to Park View High School, which offers the IB Program. In addition, nearby is the Centre Scolaire de la Rive Sud and the South Shore Waldorf School.
Right outside the front door is the Common Green, where their children can play safely with friends. Round the back are garden beds and trails winding through a secluded 10-acre private forest. Close by is the Common House, with its large communal kitchen, coworking spaces, lounge, fitness rooms, guest suites, workshop, and more.
Treehouse Village is a short walk, bike ride or bus trip to the urban conveniences of Bridgewater, including schools, shopping, restaurants and cafes, a recreation centre, and a library. It is located along the Centennial Trail multi-use trail that runs through Bridgwater and connects to the Trans-Canada Great Trail.
Treehouse Village features 30 modern condominium homes built to the ultra energy efficient Passive House standard. Construction is well underway and you’ll be able to move in as early as the Fall of 2022.
Self-governed and developed by its future residents, Treehouse Village is unlike any neighbourhood Nova Scotia has seen and is a welcome option for those seeking eco-friendly and community-oriented living.
