Now available: Treehouse Village’s bright and spacious top-floor home — the Maple!

This 1,006-sq.ft. condo offers two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a big kitchen, an open-concept living area, and plenty of room to work from home. You’ll enjoy a unique multi-age community, while sharing valuable common amenities and 16 acres of land with 29 other households. All this, located in Bridgewater — a thriving town on Nova Scotia’s beautiful South Shore!

“There is something special happening here in Bridgewater with this wild, wacky group of people who have come together through Treehouse Village,” says Megan Beliveau.

Meg and her partner, Matt van Bommel, moved into their own Maple in fall 2023.

Before they moved, they decided to mark this important milestone in their life — by walking and biking the 130 kilometers (~80 miles) from their apartment in Halifax to their new home at Treehouse Village!

“When we arrived on September 4,” Meg recalls, “we were greeted by our new neighbours who were cheering us on and organizing a special welcome for us.”

“Our journey turned out to be quite the little adventure and very satisfying to complete,” says Matt.

Treehouse Village: A special community in more ways than one

A registered Condominium Corporation, Treehouse Village Ecohousing is a unique 30-unit development that has been intentionally designed for eco-friendly, community-oriented living. Now in the final stage of construction, we are Atlantic Canada’s first cohousing community and Nova Scotia’s largest Passive House condominium development.

Treehouse Villagers support each other in many valuable ways, whether by giving someone a lift, preparing community meals, or helping with child care. More than 6 languages are spoken and the community ranges in age from newborn to 80+.

Residents are dedicated to sharing resources with each other, being environmentally responsible, and living as sustainably as possible.

All four residential buildings have solar panels installed on their roofs. Our goal is to provide a large percentage of our electrical needs through solar energy, ultimately reaching net zero. The campus has 10 EV charging stations and an EV car sharing program.

Our residential buildings have been built to the ultra energy-efficient Passive House standards — so, each unit’s heating bills are expected to be as low as $200/year. Condo fees include your internet, as well as heat, electricity, and water.

The Maple: Perfect for both working professionals and families

Meg and Matt have been settling into their Maple over the past four months. They recall it was the windows and the work-from-home potential that drew them to pick the Maple from among the different home sizes in the community.

“We liked that it was on the second floor,” says Matt. “We also liked that there would be so many windows since it’s on the end of the building.”

The 1,006-square-foot Maple is great for work-from-home professionals — and with its two bedrooms and two bathrooms, it’s also a wonderful place for growing families.

Co-developed and managed by its residents, Treehouse Village Ecohousing is unlike any neighbourhood in Nova Scotia, a welcome option for those seeking eco-friendly and community-oriented living.

“We are so lucky and grateful we get to be part of this community,” says Meg.

The Maple — 2 bed, 2 bath, 1006-sq-ft., top floor, one-level condo + shared 16 acres + more than 5000 sq.ft. of shared amenities — lists at $599,000 (incl HST). Find out more!
