We love all our visitors!

A big advantage to being a “cohousing” community is the shared connections we have with each other at Treehouse Village — and with each other’s visitors, who come for the afternoon to hang out, or the evening to attend an event here, or to stay overnight in one of our guest rooms.

We’ve welcomed at least eight visitors to Treehouse Village over the past week! They got to explore our 4000-sq.ft. Common House, our 11 acres of forested land, our climate-smart housing development (with solar panels on our rooftops!) … along with the chance to have spontaneous conversations with residents of our 30 homes.

Becky and Scott welcomed their friends Judy and Nicky, who visited with their Corgi, Vino, for three days. “They’ve been here several times before, so they’ve already met many of my neighbours,” says Becky. “Even if my neighbours don’t remember my friends’ names, they usually remember Vino! Nicky and Judy really like that they can walk Vino here, without worrying about salt from the roads getting into his paws.”

Cate and her family are in touch with long-time friends Cat, Rocky, and Pearl, who live practically next door on St. Philips Street. “They’ve joined us for a couple of common meals, as well as our Winter Solstice celebration,” says Cate, who adds: “Their daughter, Pearl, is building friendships with some of the children here.” Cate notes there are 18 children, ages two to 12, living at Treehouse Village.

And Meg welcomed her pal Duncan, who stayed for a few nights in a guest room in the Common House. Meg introduced him to the community as follows: “For those who don’t know him, he is a savvy community developer who co-founded and operates the Front Street Community Oven in Wolfville” — a great resource person for our own common meals at Treehouse Village.

Just a few examples from one week in the life of our community!
